System

In order to access the service with an acceptable performance level, the recommended system requirements are as follows:

- Processor: 500 MHz
- Memory: 128Mb
- Display: 17" monitor
- Hard Disk: 4Gb
- Operating System: Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP
- Internet Browser: Internet Explorer 6
- Connectivity: It is recommended that all regular users of landweb direct should use ISDN or ADSL connectivity. A 56K analogue modem is suitable only for infrequent use of the system.

Display

Although a 17" monitor provides an acceptable level of performance, a 21" monitor will give a much better performance once supported by the system.

Some users of landweb direct might experience some difficulties with the clarity of the website on their screens. This could be affected by the colour settings on your PC. In order to view the website with an acceptable level, the colour setting should be at least "65536".

To check or adjust your colour setting (Windows), go to Settings within the Start menu. Via Control Panel you can select Display and then click on the Settings tab. The Colour Palette will show the current colour settings. Make sure that those are at least "65536" but preferably "True Colours".

Printer

The minimum printer requirement to enable an acceptable copy of an output to be generated will be:

- Capable of printing both A3 and A4 paper sizes
- 300 Dots Per Inch (DPI)
- Additionally the following colours are required to enable printing of copy maps:
        Cyan;
        Magenta;
        Yellow;
        Black.

Before printing official documents from LWD you must ensure that your printer toner cartridge has sufficient ink to perform the task fully and without compromise. Some printers provide software to allow you to check the toner levels from your desktop, please consult your printer software documentation to see how to do this. Furthermore printer documentation should be consulted to determine the minimum toner levels that ensure clarity of colour, should this level be reached then the cartridge should be replaced.

N.B. Low toner levels can have a detrimental effect on the clarity of the colours output by the printer. This can in turn lead to documents being misinterpreted.

Furthermore, when working on networks it is important to ensure that print jobs are sent to printers that are configured correctly for colour printing.
